A must have for anyone practicing the art of oculofacial surgery

As a surgeon with over fifteen years of experience, I am continually searching for the latest advancements in surgical technique and theory. This atlas is a virtual "how to" guide to learn the subtleties and nuances of oculofacial surgery. What really shines in this atlas are the 3 DVDs that provide you with step-by-step guidance of the 42 procedures in the text (most texts provide only one DVD or none at all). In my opinion the DVDs in this atlas are head and shoulders better than any on the market. No shaky camera, no issues with blurriness or out of focus images. Instead you get videos that appear professionally produced featuring crisp visuals in high definition. The complexities of the procedures certainly deserve to be seen in this level of detail.
The surgeries are edited to cover each salient step with color-coding as well as arrows showing important anatomic structures; freeze frames throughout each procedure also make it easy to follow. The corresponding text is well-written and includes pictures from the actual surgical procedure. That is, actual patient photos are featured as opposed to the typical cartoon mockups. Kudos to Dr. Korn and Dr. Kikkawa for an exceptional, "cutting-edge" piece of work. This video atlas is an invaluable tool for all practicing or aspiring surgeons (residents, fellows, and surgeons in practice).

Excellent Oculoplastics Reference

I am a general ophthalmologist 3 years into private practice who performs a significant amount of eyelid surgery. I am very impressed with this publication by two leading Oculoplastics surgeons in the field, Drs. Korn and Kikkawa. The illustrations and photos are of superb quality. The descriptions of the 43 procedures are excellent and in sufficient pertinent detail. The videos and narration are excellent quality and very easy to follow. More importantly, having worked directly with both authors, I am very familiar with the second-to-none surgical results that these surgeons obtain using these illustrated techniques. I believe that this is by far the best illustrated text, picture, and dvd collection on the market for oculofacial plastic surgery. It is an invaluable tool for ophthalmic and facial surgeons of all levels of experience. I recommend it without reservation and use it regularly in my surgical practice.
